JACKET

Image
Hiya! I finally found an opportunity to use yarn that has been in my stash for 15+ years.  Yes, I have been storing yarn for a lot of years.  I was able to purchase 16 skeins from a local yarn shop that was closing.   It is Jewels by Euro Yarns; 50% cotton, 31% rayon and 19% nylon.  Note:  I am sure that it is no longer available.  After swatching, I love the look of the seed stitch (as indicated below). I found this dropped sleeved jacket which is knitted in several sections; i.e., back, four fronts (two for each side) and four sleeves (two for each arm).   Since the front pieces are knitted sideways, I will use Stockinette Stitch to give the jacket a different look. I still need to find the "right color" to crochet it together.  Can't wait to see the finished piece. Enjoy Knitting Each Day! Jackie

A MYSTERY (Part Two)

Hiya! As I progress with this shawl, I couldn't wait to see if finished.  I have to admit that I didn't love it at first.  I thought the colors did not provide enough contrast; however, I now see that although subtle, it looks lovely.  I knitted the larger version (I love big scarfs).   The pattern itself was well written; i.e., providing chart and written instructions.  However, I did make one minor changes; i.e.,  I ran out of the yarn so I edge the shawl in both colors.  The pattern did not call for changing needle size for the edging.  However I think I should have changed to smaller needles to bind off, as is my custom; but, I like the small ruffle effect on the sides. I think I would like to knit another one of Romi's designs.  This one was a fun knit. Enjoy Knitting Each Day! Jackie
