Semester is Over

Hi Knitters...

Now that this school semester is over, I can get back to knitting.  I have worked the Aranami Shawl by Olga Buraya-Kefelian in Madelin Tosh's black and teal colors. 


I loved that shawl so much that I decided to make another; however, this time with the shells being a different color.



 I am currently working my way through Level 3 of TKGA's Master Hand Knitting Program.  I began the program in 1995 when I passed Level I.  I didn't complete Level II until June 2014.  I had intended to stop there.  However, I attended the 2015 TKGA's Conference in San Diego and got talked into finishing.  So in 2016, I ordered the package and here I am. I have just completed most of the swatches (one of them is seen below); but, I still have a number of items left to accomplished.



As you can see from my BIO have been knitting for some years.  This adventure has expanded my technical skills and interests in ways beyond what I have expected.  I am looking forward to incorporating what I have learned into creating my own designs.    

 When I have completed the Masters program, I plan to get more involved in design work, video tutorials and publish patterns.

Hiya,   Since the quarantine started, I have ventured into the world of the "Knit-A-Long".  A knitalong (KAL) is when many knitters work on their own version of the same pattern at the same time.  My first KAL was with Marie Green.  Knitting along with a group from my LYS, we worked together with the pattern as it was broken down into steps.  The pace kept me on track so that I was able to finish the sweater while before the deadline. So, I decided to join another one!!  This time with one of my favorite designers - Joji Locatelli.  I have a number of her designs on my "things to knit" list.  Note:  My "things to knit" list are projects with the pattern and yarn already purchased - another "knit from stash project"  YEAH!!! TEALEAF SWEATER - FINALLY DONE

Hiya, I have finally finished the Craftsy's Tealeaf Sweater by Bristol Ivy. The construction of the sweater is unique - which is what you can expect from Bristol.  It is intended to be worn with approximately 13 1⁄2” positive ease.  This enable the garment to be loose-fitting and drapey; however, the sleeves are knitted to fit snuggly around the arms.   Knitting this sweater was pretty easy.  The lace pattern was simple to remember; however, knitting the saddle shoulders with the front and back pieces was a little tricky; i.e., live stitches on front, back and the saddle stitches.   It is a little too big.  I have found this to be true for another of knitters; nevertheless, the results are WONDERFUL!!!   I will definitely make another one - I will try the smaller size!!. SUMMA STRIPES SHAWL

Hiya, af ter working on a lace and cable cardigan, I wanted to knit something that would not tax my brain or hands.   I selected the Summa Stripes Shawl by Meiju K-P on Ravelry.   The shawl is knitted from side to side; but, in two different directions.  The shape is achieved with increases and short-rows.  There is minimal finishing needed which was another plus; especially after the detailed finishing on the cardigan. This seemed an easy project to get completed and it would use up some of my stash yarn.   So....after a little bit of searching, I found a couple of skeins for MadelineTosh DK (Electric Rainbow) and I paired it with yellow and black.   The only modification that I have made to the scarf has been to change the strip section.  I alternated black and yellow stripes.
