Knitters Day Out

Hi Knitters.

 Just finished a scarf called I Monti Pallidi (Pale Mountains) by Valentina Cosciani (https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/i-monti-pallidi)

 I found this pattern and yarn at Knitter's Day Out Market from Hidden Rivers Yarns out of Philadelphia, PA. 







Knitters' Day Out is a day and a half of classes, shopping, and hanging-out with devoted individuals who knit.  It has been held annually since 1986 in Summerdale, PA.

This is the first time that I attending this event.  I selected a class called "Designing and Charting Your Own Cables" with internationally famous knitter and crocheter, Lily Chin.


I have done many cables before and want to get into more complex cable patterns so that I can design my own cables. I  learned how cable patterns are actually formed and their basic traits, characteristics and manipulations. As a result, I am able to better understanding and follow the directions a whole lot better.  I am able to look at a cable pattern and figure out how to work it even without verbal directions!  Thanks Lily😀

Hiya,   Since the quarantine started, I have ventured into the world of the "Knit-A-Long".  A knitalong (KAL) is when many knitters work on their own version of the same pattern at the same time.  My first KAL was with Marie Green.  Knitting along with a group from my LYS, we worked together with the pattern as it was broken down into steps.  The pace kept me on track so that I was able to finish the sweater while before the deadline. So, I decided to join another one!!  This time with one of my favorite designers - Joji Locatelli.  I have a number of her designs on my "things to knit" list.  Note:  My "things to knit" list are projects with the pattern and yarn already purchased - another "knit from stash project"  YEAH!!! SUMMA STRIPES SHAWL

Hiya, af ter working on a lace and cable cardigan, I wanted to knit something that would not tax my brain or hands.   I selected the Summa Stripes Shawl by Meiju K-P on Ravelry.   The shawl is knitted from side to side; but, in two different directions.  The shape is achieved with increases and short-rows.  There is minimal finishing needed which was another plus; especially after the detailed finishing on the cardigan. This seemed an easy project to get completed and it would use up some of my stash yarn.   So....after a little bit of searching, I found a couple of skeins for MadelineTosh DK (Electric Rainbow) and I paired it with yellow and black.   The only modification that I have made to the scarf has been to change the strip section.  I alternated black and yellow stripes. Shawl - Dragoness

 Hi Knitters, I came across this shawl when it was advertised in the Vogue Knitting Live New York course selections. The designer, Alexandra Davidoff, was having a class on this shawl.  Although I was going to attend VKL in February, along with my knitting friends, I wasn't planning on taking classes; but, I really liked this shawl. Together with my friends, I decided to have a KAL at my local yarn shop featuring this shawl. After researching, the designer has a mystery knit along with this pattern in 2018.  As a result, there are a number of Youtube videos that provide the explanation that I was looking for.  Here are a few things: 1.
